St. Monica Group
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”
– Ephesians 6:18
Monica, mother of Agustine, had been praying for years for her son to be baptized into the Church. He had strayed far off the path, and in desperation Monica went to bishop Ambros to request his assistance with helping Agustine to convert. Bishop Ambrose replied to Monica, “Surely the son of a mother who has shed so many tears and prayed so many tears will not perish”.
The St. Monica Group is fashioned after St. Monica’s persistence in praying her son into the Church. It took Monica fifteen years of prayer, fasting and sacrifice before her prayers were answered. The members of the St. Monica Group pray for the return of our prodigals through:
- Eucharistic Adoration on the first Friday of the month time TBA in the St. Peter’s room.
- Second Friday of the month recitation of the prodigal rosary, reflection and sharing from to in the St. Peter’s room.
- Remaining Fridays recitation of the prodigal rosary at in the St. Peter’s room.
